Took one of those drives that's only 20 miles but takes an hour this morning. I don't know how old this park is but it is in a suburb near Philadelphia so I knew it would have had lots of traffic over the years. I'm still hoping for something old out of this location but it didn't happen today. Nevertheless I was pulling out coins at the rate of 1 every two minutes and I haven't even gone over a quarter of it. Not to mention I haven't slowed down the pace to intense search mode yet. I'm just pulling out the easy stuff first. I suspect I will be spending a lot of time in this park this spring. 29 quarters, two dimes, a nickel and 12 pennies. Nothing really worth mentioning but a lot of the quarters are from the '70's. The neighborhood surrounding the park looks like it was built in the 40's and 50's.

Thats' a good two hour hunt and a nice pile of quarters. My buddy and I ran into a spot like that situated in 30-40" era housing and we couldn't move 2' without digging a coin. Although we were picking up the occasional wheat cent, it wasn't until we had pulled over 1000 modern coins and wheats from the spot that the first silver came to light. We are now over 2000 coins from it in total and about 15 silver dimes, quarters and old nickels, combined. The older stuff is deeper and a lot of masking taking place between the modern coins and a bed of trash. Those kind of spots are fun, though, as you know. HH jim tn

Lots of action... i once cherry picked 10 dollars of dimes and quarters out of a small baseball field till i read the sign stating it was a private field,oops... hunting the little league baseball and football field sidelines after the season will give good results too...congrats..

Knocked this hunt out of the park lol!! Well done my friend!

In reference to baseball fields, I've had good luck finding several rings in the outfields!!

Great hunt, To find so much coinage in a short time and a small area is a very good day. You gotta love those times when the coins come out of the ground so fast. I had a day like that once and I went back to the location several times many months apart hoping it would reload but it has not happened. Go back and vacuum the area before you move on. I hope there is some silver there for you.
Thanks for posting.

That is a great quantity of finds. 44 is a lucky number
