42 Nickel

Does the 1942 nickel have silver content?............Or does it have to have a mint mark to be a war nickel..As luck would have it mine has no mint mark..Trying to decide whether to roll ..or not to roll it...Thanks

Sorry ..........I checked and looks like it has no silver but worth maybe .10............Guess I'll hold the darn thing.......Dave

Yeah, I found an early '42 nickel the other day. Still fun to find though !!

Too bad it did not have the mint mark. The At Pro is a Nickel monster. I have found six war nickels so far this year. I had one day last month with 18 nickels, (lots of other coins too.) and a few days ago I found 17. This last hunt, I had more nickels than any other coin. Don't recall that happening before. I think lots of people pass them up because they cannot tell them from pull tabs or just don't want them. The At Pro ID's them so well they are hard to miss.
