Ironsight has been discussing the use of 4TF in a thread I started here awhile ago and I have been getting more comfortable with it based on his advice. Tonight I went to a park and struck out, but I stopped at a funeral home established in 1883 I've got permission to hunt at. Over the past week or two I've pulled two buffalo nickles and several wheats out of there, but it's full of rust and high tones are few and far between. I went back tonight and only had half an hour at that point, but I got a jumpy signal at around 21-35 and moving further into the iron range, but it was repeatable from both directions so I experimented a little. I put it on my coin program and just got nulls, put it on 2TF and got low tones that I certainly would not have dug, but it was convincing enough with 4TF so I went ahead and dug. At 6" I got an 1883 indian. It was a nice find for the conditions there, and the fact that it's the same year as the funeral home originally opened was a cool bonus.
