4 SILVER w/ 1898 BARBER DIME~!

Right by my "tree" I found some silver today, and a LOT of trash. Only had a few hours to hunt since it was my gf's B-Day today, so I went back to the area that's been productive, and hit a few quarters, and the oldest dime yet. It was way too cold to be hunting today, but glad I did!

Thanks Rolladex. This park is ridiculous! I found an 1918 Mercury Dime on the SURFACE of the ground this past week right next to one of these old roots. Soon as I passed my coil over it the E-Trac let out this huge scream. I knew it was a shallow hit, and when I looked down I saw the dime. It was dirty, so I thought "Cool. Easy clad dime find", and then I picked it up and wiped it off. Almsot soiled myself. haha. This place never ceases to amaze me. Nothing is ever deep here. The deepest coin was at approx a foot,. and that was the King George III British half-penny from the 1770's. Crazy.

Very Very cool Ron,

Thx 4 post and congrats on finds. Video was awesome and even with several Barbers under my belt, I still get way excited. Today I pulled a 1911 Barber dime from old faithful and I had to pause to collect myself.

Thx again and your on fire with this site.

I was expecting a Mercury when I first pulled that dime, and in the video you can hear me get excited because it's a Barber. I was shocked. The older gentleman that approached me a week ago and pointed out this area wasn't kidding about all the good stuff he has found over the years here. It surprises me every time out. I've noticed my clad numbers have dropped greatly though. I've stopped my "runnin and gunnin" on the open fields and grabbing those shallow surface coins, and instead, just focusing on the older area of the park that's been untouched and is producing deeper older targets. Really immersing myself in this hobby, and hope to help others that are new to detecting with whatever I learn as I go.

Excellent job Ron! You've got great commentary countenance.....you don't work in radio do you?

I really enjoyed the video! Congratulations on the finds. Keep it up.

PS - HAPPY B-DAY man!

Wonderful Finds

Great Video

I don't know your Location but I am SO IMPRESSED at your willingness to Share

It is Really Difficult to find a spot like yours and the Finds Keep Coming

Your On Fire:hot:

So far two fellow hobbyists have taken me up on my offer, and have shown-up at the park a few weeks ago. They both walked away with two silvers each that day. Can't beat that kind of day. A few others have said they may stop up. I'm more than happy with what I've been finding here, and don't mind helping others. I make it a point to give everyone that shows-up a quick run-down of the parks history, where I've had success and what used to be there etc. I get a lot of satisfaction with helping people. It's just the way I was raised. I consider myself a fairy bright individual, so if the park ever truly dries-up, I'll find a new spot to work. This rock is too big, and there are too many undiscovered gems hiding in the ground just waiting to be unearthed.

My goodness!:drool:Looks like you've found an unsearched park.A big congrats!
Hope you find lots more oldies.
