I was planning on heading back to the park where I picked up a Merc and 1890 IH on Wednesday but knew I wasn't going to have a ton of time. I didn't want to have to make the 9 minute drive there. As I was pulling out of my driveway I saw a car in the driveway to the house behind me. The house has been foreclosed for a year. This guy turned out to be an inspector. I asked his permission and he said go for it. I had already hit the backyard 3 times and only came up with a wheat penny. The front was surprisingly clean for a house built in 1941. I got a nice solid quarter-dime signal at 7" and turned out to be a 1940 Washington. Then got a few shallow clad coins. Then got a real jumpy quarter signal with a bunch of oddball numbers in between. Dug 5" down and got a '41 and '44 Washington plus a 1927 Canadian nickel. I also dug 2 wheat pennies. I still have 1/2 the front to cover. I had to leave there to go to my wife's 94 year old grandpa's house to administer a fleet enema (I'm a nurse so evidently my ma-in-law volunteered me). His house was built in the 70's so figured what the heck, maybe I'll get lucky. The first signal was a '56 wheat. Then got a nice solid dime signal right against the chain link fence at 7" and out popped a '44 Merc! Got another wheat then called it a day after 30 minutes there. All in all a great day, and barely had to drive anywhere!!
