Hello All,
So far I've had the MXT 4 months, and I must say that I am very pleased with it. I use this machine in Relic and CJ mode most of the time, and as of yet, I have not purchased a smaller coil for it. Here is what I love about this detector: Battery life; AA are not cheap if you do a lot of detecting so it's nice to get some milage out of a set. Most detectors that do what the MXT does will burn through a set of AA in 15-20 hours. So far I've averaged 45 hours on a set of alkalines. Processor speed; it will go as fast as your arm will swing it which is very impressive. Target ID; which I rely on 60% of the time, my system is easy, 4in or above I will use the target id almost all the time if it reads screwcap or above i'm diggin', anything deeper repeatable I will dig, BUT for me I've noticed that even then the target id is very accurate on deep targets. Target separation; excellent, nuff said. Depth; on small targets arguably second none (i'm sure someone will argue), on coins I've put the MXT against some reputable models and brands and it does very very well. Ease of use; as easy as you want to make it. I have some minor gripes but overall, they are not even worth mentioning. My military career/wife/daughter/supervisor/war on terror - keep my THing time limited, but I've dug my small share of silver with the MXT, and while sometimes the thing gets noisy and on my nerves,I don't think any other machine will fit the bill for me (at this time,( there is always room for more detectors)). Good luck to all, and keep the great posts coming.
