Hello fellow diggers-

I was up at my brothers Strawberry farm in Pa for 3 days August 13-15 helping him with mowing and weeding. His farm is a circa 1774 homestead. And although I have yet to dig some Spanish silver or an old colonial copper at his farm, I was able to recover 4 mercs over the last 3 days. 1919, 1927, 1929, 1940. I also dug a dateless Buffalo nickel and a 1918 wheatie.

The strawberry farm dates to the early 1930s. HH

cool finds.... if the property has a source of water nearby the original house I would recommend hunting there in the winter or spring as that is where I find most of the oldest stuff at old farm houses.... vegetation is minimal early spring time... good luck....

Nice finds. If the property is that old, keep looking, the coppers with turn up.

:hot: what a find I have yet to find anything older then a 1953 license plate but then again I am new to all this and still learning my machine

Awesome finds! Thanks for sharing. That place is definitely worth returning to. Still waiting to dig my first buffalo nickle...
