4 LITTLE INJUNS

I TOOK THE SILVER UMAX WITH THE NEW 5.75 COIL AND MY JUST ARRIVED TODAY CZ 70 OUT FOR AN AFTERNOON OF COIN HUNTING AT A LITTLE COUNTRY CHURCH. I HAVE HUNTED THIS CHURCH A FEW TIMES AND ALWAYS FOUND COINS, BUT TODAY WAS A LITTLE DIFFERENT. I STARTED OUT HUNTING WITH THE CZ 70 TO SEE HOW IT OPERATED AND FOUND A FEW COINS WITH IT. THE CZ PULLED UP A COUPLE DEEP OLD WHEATIES WITH EASE AT AROUND 8 INCHES ACCORDING TO THE DEPTH METER, BUT THE SILVER UMAX WAS THE STAR OF THE DAY. MY FIRST TARGET WITH THE SILVER WAS A SWEET MELLOW TONE AND TURNED OUT TO BE THE 1924 MERC AT ABOUT 5 INCHES. NEXT TARGET WAS A 1908 INDIAN HEAD FOLLOWED BY A 1907 INDIAN HEAD JUST A FEW FEET AWAY. ANOTHER SIGNAL PRODUCED A 1899 INDIAN HEAD A FEW MINUTES LATER AND NEXT TO A BIG MAPLE TREE THE 1895 INDIAN HEAD POPPED OUT AT LESS THAN 2 INCHES DEEP. HUNTING WITH THE SMALL COIL ON THE SILVER UMAX CAUSED ME TO SLOW DOWN AND OVERLAP MY SWEEPS MORE THAN I NORMALLY DO. SEEMS I GET IN A HURRY SOMETIMES AND I PROBABLY MISS AS MANY TARGETS AS I FIND BY DOING THIS. THE COIL LOOKS TINY COMPARED TO THE STOCK COIL BUT IT WILL PRODUCE THE COINS IF YOU SLOW DOWN AND OVERLAP YOUR SWEEPS. I HAD A BLAST USING THE SILVER UMAX TODAY...LIGHT AS A FEATHER AND THE LITTLE COIL IS VERY SENSITIVE. IT LOCATED A TINY .22 SHORT RIFLE CASING AT ABOUT 4 INCHES WITH A SOLID SIGNAL. IF YOU OWN THIS COIL YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.... IF YOU DON'T OWN IT YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON A TON OF FUN!.............ROGER

yeah, i was surprised to turn up 4 indian heads at the church, especially since it has been hunted a few times before. my best find there so far was a 1904 barber half and a 1902 barber quarter in the same hole on the first trip there. if you look at the recent coins i found there everything is right around the turn of the century. must have been some kind of activity in the yard like a church picnic or something.............roger
