4 fire trucks later!!!..........

The phone rang early this morning, then my wife said it was your mom! Something is wrong, she called the fire dept, and wants you right away! While on my way out the door I heard her say something about it is not the house it is your mom! So I did NASCAR for about 3.5 miles while praying all the way! Her smoke detector was going off and she was hauling stuff out when I pulled up. Well about 10-15 minutes later a parade of fire trucks, ambulances, and volenteers show up. We never seen any smoke or flames, and they used a thermal imaging camera to see if anything was hot. It was not! Thanks God! Just a detector gone bad! Pretty exciting morning!

That's quite an adrenaline rush considering it incolved (1) your Mom, (2) fire, (3) NASCAR (and not getting to do the winners lap), etc.
Glad everything ok - Sherry says she wants one of those cameras. Speaking of cameras my digital one just died today with no explanation or anything. Just wouldn't shut the lens and when it did it came right back open. Its in the trash now. Using the digital movie camera for the still close ups you saw earlier of today's finds.

the fireman had my mom stand in one spot for a couple seconds, then he had her move and she could see her footprints on the floor through the thermal imaging camera! That was the heat transfer even through her shoes! Now that is cool!

...Andretti would have sure been proud of your drive over to your moms!! I sure am glad all was OK! That is always unnerving to get an early phone call like that.
