4 conductive tones

foreign object

New member
I see where most people either use TTF or Multi conductive tones with a splattering of folks using 4TF.

Do any of you guys use 4 conductive tones and if not why?

I can see where Multi conductive can help in separating different targets (coins) as opposed to 4 conductive lumping targets into four tone groups which can be good or bad depending on your needs.

Correct me if I am wrong but I assume that you guys that run multi also use some amount of disc to eliminate the iron high tones which would also be required in 4 conductive.

I read on one of the forums a guy said that running 4 conductive was a train wreck and not to do it but I really don't understand those comments.

Anyway any info and all replies are welcome.

Thanks

I have never tried 4TF, but I agree with what you said about ths issues with it. Not sure what the advantage would be?

I use Multi conductive and usually run a wide open screen, unless it is really trashy.

Bryan I've heard many comment to match yours about using multi unless it's real trashy. My question is what do you use if your a multi tone hunter in real trashy areas? I started out with the regular ML programs but soon realized if I wanted to find the deep stuff there was way to much discrimination. Started hunting in TTF and very open to wide open screens. This served the purpose but in trash other than just iron it can be very trying. You have to double check a good tone on the screen. Lately I've been running a limited discrimination program in multi. To try to find the best of both worlds. Depth and hunting more by the good tones. It's faster and you just have to double ck the good tones. I haven't messed with 4T but would lover to hear from tho's who have with their comments and suggestions. I kind of think it might have a place in hunting trashy areas and still trying to get a deep as you want.

IMO, if you're gonna run Conductive tones, then run MTC especially if you're after silver, it'll provide more tone information for the target.
I can see no real advantage to use 4TC.

However there is an advantage to use 4TF or even MTF which allows hunting more by tones when in Ferrous mode (after getting used to it).
I've used both of those settings along with 2TF in some areas with success.

I seldom use Conductive tones these days as all the old parks around here are corroded nail burial grounds.
