4" coil on a SS II ????

Hi, folks! BigSquid's back. Been 'tecting w/ my new SS II, UM (8" coil), & it seems like the outer ring of the coil has "fingers" on it!!. Lot of finds I dig R not @ the center of the inner 4" ring of the coil. YOU 4" users..... Do ya get closer w/ it? Thinkin' 'bout gettin' one.... Been gettin' my finds, but, diggin' a bigger hole than I think I oughta be. My old RB5 coil centered everything, everytime. Advice????

Hey Bigsquid I had a SS II,and it was better pinpointing than my 505,you may want to give Bounty Hunter a call and see what they think, you could have a faulty coil.
You might try laying a quarter on the ground where you know there's nothing metal below it and just see if the center is infact the center of the coil, could be to the front, back or to the side of your coil.

Hey, thanks Dano!! I will try that tomorrow (5-18-10). Will let ya know how it goes. If the coin centers elsewhere than the coil center, I'll call BH. I've had this SS II for about a month now.

Hey, Dano! Did my test this a.m. My targets were in the center of the coil!!! Just gonna take some gettin' used to, I guess. Readout & depth indicators worked good, too. Don't know why I hadn't tried this before. Thanks! p.s... I've lost my "smiley" prompts. Don't know how to get 'em back!

Hey Bigsquid, the 4" coil is deadly in high trash areas. Gud luck.
HHing,

I agree...The 4" is killer in tot lots, up against chain link fences, and in trashy areas to separate targets...way better pin pointing than 8" too.
