4" coil is really a usefull tool...Snagged hidden wheat

Nothing special on the coin -just another wheat. Also a clad dime & a small copper washer. But they were in hiding under a shade tree I've scoured with well-everything I own. Tesoro's,large & smaller (7")coils. My 3300 with the larger coil & my Tracker 4 with a 7". I was using the 3300 and chose the small coil as this is a very trashy site & it has worked magic there before.

It is the only old coin I've pulled from this spot in a few trips. Felt good just to be detecting as I've been laid up for over a week.

Too bad it takes forever to cover ground but it unmasks very very well & gets suprising depth.

Cheers!

I worked the front yard of an older house under renovation with the stock 8" coil on my 505 and found three pennies and a "boat-load" of trash signals. Switched to the small 4" and only dug 3 trash signals but recovered 27 assorted clad and a .925 silver ring in the same yard I just hunted. HH Ed in co.

I enjoyed using the 4" coil on my 505 but have not tied it on my discovery3300 yet. I had some ?'s about it's effectiveness because I wanted to try to dig deeper targets with the 3300. I wanted to find some older coins and maybe some silver. I learned recently though that most targets that are worthwhile are not as deep as you think. Sometimes they are mixed in with trash and other times it is about finding the right site. Thank you for posting about using the 4" on the 3300 darkflight. I don't have very much time to detect these days and am not into digging to China for pull tabs. Glad you can get out and detect again. I enjoy reading your posts. Good luck and hh this week everyone.
