4.5 " widescan coil question

HI Silversmith,
You may use any of the 'HOT' coils. The smallest coil is 5.75", in either a concentric or a widescan configuration. I don't think anyone else makes coils for Tesoro detectors.

Oh, by the way, do you or anyone else believe upgrading to a 5.75 round DD loop would be any advantage over the stock oval jobbie? I'm mainly interested in nuggets. Again thanks. Ron.

It may help you in a trashy areas (when you have multiple targets per sweep) or tight bedrock areas, but you will lose some depth, and coverage per sweep. There has only been a few times when I wish that I had a smaller coil on my LST. The stock coil is a widescan (aka 'DD'), not sure if you know that...much better depth than the 5.75", and covers more ground.
