4.5" sniper coil ?

Concentric.

It might depend on the mineralization, the amount of trash you have to compete with and the size of a target. The sniper coil would be better in a very trash laden area, giving more accurate ID on various targets, whereas the DD coil will often read bottle caps/screwcaps as coin targets. The sniper coil would be more sensitive to tiny targets. The DD coil might punch a little deeper, depending on the amount of mineralization

It can depend on your soil.

DD is preferred in mineralized soil.

The downside to DD's is that they tend to love bottlecaps, even when the iron ID is engaged on the AT.

Concentrics tend to be preferred on non-mineralized soils.

It just depends on yuor preferences.

I have the 5x8 coil. Most of my area is med. mineralization. Thought it would be a good addition for hunting sites where houses have been torn down, which are extremely trashy, or tight areas like under bleachers, etc. Thanks for all the responses. Mark
