4/24 Park Finds, a few first & silver hat trick!

Today was a great day for me! I went out with Lee and got some goodies. Sadly he didn't do as well. The parks we hunted were relatively modern, 1950s to present. The old parks in town are pretty much hunted to death and it's a good day if you spend 8 hours and get a wheatie out of them. So we went out to a small park in town that neither of us had hunted. Clad was fairly deep out there, but I did manage to get a 1952 D roosevelt dime out there. I also got the lead person, the dog tag, and the 4 leaf clover. I also got two wheats out there, 53S and 57D. There has to be more silver there, it's just a matter of going over it.

Then I took him out to another park that he was aware of but had never hunted there before. I had gotten several wheats out of there in the past and I just knew that there had to be some silver out there somewhere! And I was right!!! I got my first ever walking liberty half dollar at just 4" deep and laying flat, so any detector could have found it. It is a 1934. Then Lee had to go meet up with somebody and I decided to stay there for a bit more. I must have said a dozen times today how I had never found a silver washington. Well, right after he left I went walking back to the spot where I found the walker and on the way I got a child's ring that looked like gold, but isn't. Then I got another nice hit and at about 4" was a 1960D washington quarter :):):) So for the day I ended with the following:

39 Clad Pennies
1962 Canadian Penny
3 Nickels, including a 1941
2 Wheats
17 Clad Dimes
Silver Dime
Silver Quarter
5 Clad Quarters
Silver Half

70 Coins today! I am attaching that 4 leaf clover to my detector!

WTG Bgscofield6 on your finds today! The same thing happened to me 2 years ago in Island Park in Fargo, N.D. I was detecting and (this park has been pounded to death for over 30 years) I came across an elongated penny that had a 4-leaf clover on it and it said "To Bring Good Luck" and shortly after finding that elongated penny I found a 1892 Barber Half in VF-EF condition along a sidewalk only about 4" in the ground also. I was so excited that I ran over a couple af blocks to a fellow detectorist's house to show him what I found. I shortly returned with my friend and found an Indian Head Penny and a few Wheats. I even found a Barber Dime in the area as well. Congrats on the Good Luck you had and hope it continues for you.

Thanks for the well wishes.

I find it out that the 4 leaf clover came out of the ground for both of us and then we both had good luck from it.

I wish I could find one everyday :)
