4-10-08 CW Finds near US Camp

VOL1266X

New member
Hi all! Today, Dman and I found an area near a large US Camp in Middle Tennessee. Apparently, the soldiers in that regiment were equipped with .54 cal. rifles. The pic shows my finds including a Hotchkiss fuse and 1937 Buffalo nickel that the farmer lost. Dman found 10 .54 cal. 3 ringers, 2 .54 round balls, a nice carved bullet in the shape of a chess piece, and 1937 dime. We found some pieces of cannister lead. We hunted the site for 5 hours and had fun. Thanks for looking.

once again 1266x, great finds! it's been raining a lot here lately, so a lot of us are just itching to get out this weekend. your posts help to tide me over until then. like olddigger said, it's nice to dig 54's. great job, and it looks like dman is cleaning up too! hh,

The round ring in the top middle is from a watering bit for a bridle. these are post war also. Regards, VOL1266-X.
