Went to the city park today, nothing old there, but still a lot of fun to hit lots of targets. The ground was extremely dry. My hand digger just wouldn't cut it. Actually it needs sharpened. I have a small, half size shovel so i was carrying that around to make the u-plugs. Self conscious about that, but that ground was hard and i put the sod back so you couldn't even tell anything was dug.... Nobody around till the mowing guy on the other side of the fence stopped his tractor and got off.... I'm thinking oh no, he's gonna run me out of here. But turns out he's a detectorist, too. Just wanted to know what i was finding and what kind of detector i had (705).
The ring doesn't say gold on the back. It's black, but shiney on the edges. The detector read it like a dime, 38. Don't know what the token is, it says no cash value on the back. Then there's a picture that looks like some kind of a dragon. It doesn't show up good in the picture.
Question: Does real dry ground make your depth indicators read deeper than it actually is? It kept saying like 3 arrows yet the coin would be barely under the ground.
