3d Metal Detecting Game using the Explorer SE

Hello All,

For those of you who haven't seen this yet, I've created a 3d Metal Detecting Game called Treasure Valley. It's free to play the demo version which allows you to dig 15 targets at the first Site, Branton Park.

Check it out at www.Treasure-Valley.net

Thanks - vp

cool idea. This will catch on big with MD probably. M going to dl it and go a whirl

I wandered around for about 20 minutes and didn't get any signals at all. Then I turned on the cheats and realized there were only 15 targets in the entire park. I was under the impression that I could only dig 15 targets in the demo version, not that there were only 15 total.

hey sorry - never gave that a thought at all ... that's a much better idea, i'll see what i can do ...

thanks for playing

hey bazooka,

if you re-register and re-download it now allows all targets to be loaded and you can dig 15. thanks for the idea, that definately made more sense !

hey, are you going to make it so people can adjust detector settings?

thanks for the question, originally i was going to program the metal detector to work EXACTLY as the Minelab SE works with the hopes that minelab would sponsor the game but they showed little interest - never even looked ta the game ... so i decided to wait until i found a detector company that would sponsor the game (after all it's free advertising for their detector/brand etc) before i did all of that work ... but that is my intention

take care

another thing, I had to crank the sound up on my speakers as high as they would go, and signals were still barely audible. I never could hear the threshold hum. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there volume control anywhere in the program?

hey,

no volume control - not hearing the sound has really never been an issue i've had reported to me, if anythign people say the threshold sound is annoying after a while (so there is an option to mute it) but sounds should always be clear

what sound card are you using ? if you need help figuring it out, email me thru the contact form on the website.

thanks -

To be honest with you vpone I don't see why ML didn't want to get involved with this game. It would get more people involved into MD and they would buy their MD. It's a no brainer. Just for spite I would go to some other MD company and pitch it. It's a good idea for product promotion. How many times do you go to the gym? I am going 4X/week now, was going 5 but I didn't need to so I scaled back a little. What are you, about 240?

hey king,

that's what i was thinking "it's a no brainer" - it's the first game of it's kind and you would think a detector company would see the benefit - oh well i keep plugging away

i talked with white's and it was the same thing, "they didn't see any advantage of it ..."

i lift 4-5 per week, been working out for over 20 years, use to bodybuild in my younger days
when i'm fully in shape - about 240-245 10-11% bf

take care and thanks for trying it out

vp

They didn't see any advantage of it?? Hmm, it's an interactive immersion into the world of metal detecting. WHY do you think most people do not do it? BECAUSE they do not understand the concept and thrill of finding something in the ground and this game teaches them that. Keep plugging away with different companies. I know someone out there has a brain.

thanks man,

i appreciate the support - i know someone will eventually come to their senses, i think they are probably older, more traditional type people running these companies and they don't have enough foresight to see the obvious advantages of supporting something like this ... what gets me the most if they're not even open enough to the idea for me to show it to them !

btw, my original idea was to take this to nintendo's wii console system (detecting, digging etc with the wii remote would be pretty cool)
BUT they are very exclusive in who they let develop games for them - so i'm kinda stuck there too ...

take care
