3300

Hi all --

I purchases a new Discovery 3300 this spring.
My dilemma is that my coin count is WAY down, while what I call the "misc. stuff" (toy cars, bullets, etc.) is WAY up.

Has anyone else had this issue. My previous machine was a cheap Fast Tracker.

It really doesn't bother me, as I just like to get out and make finds, but I just thought this was kind of odd

I have been running the 3300 for a long time........

I find the more seasons i use it the more clad i find and less the junk....... I don't dig everything, I have found out the numbers are pretty accurate and then seeing what it the target sounds like on the pinpoint mode really lets me know what i dig..... am i missing some targets this way I am sure I am but hey I gotta leave some for someone else.... Right?

mitto, I seem to have the opposite problem: I'm finding lots of coins, but fewer other items. I think it depends on where you do most of your hunting. For example, I hunt schools for the most part, and do find some school-related items (i.e. locks, toys, etc.). However, most of my finds are coins. Perhaps you're hunting sites that just have seen the loss of other items over the years. Finding those kinds of items (especially jewelry) can be exciting, since they can offer clues about the original owner of the item. To me, that would be more interesting than finding a modern coin that could have belonged to anyone. Anyway, just think about the locations you hunt, and ask yourself if there are any possible reasons why these items show up more. Hope this helps and HH, abcoin.
