HI all, I know this question is on here a lot but I had a co-workers husband ask me what is a good detector for about $300.00? He wants to hunt land and beaches. I believe he wants to hunt freshwater beaches as I do not know if you could get one for that price to hunt saltwater beaches as well? Maybe a used one for that price? All opinions welcome. Thank you.

Tesoro Compadre + Garrett Pro Pointer = all set up with money left over.

Yup, Tesoro Compadre or Silver Umax is a good bang for your buck.

Hi,
You might consider buying a used detector.

I was looking for same answer and all the research led me to a Eurotek Pro with 11 inch DD coil.

Probably couldn't go wrong with an ace 250. Depending on exact price you could about get one new and a pin pointer as well.

How about a used tesoro tigershark ? It's a vlf unit thats designed for salt water that also does well on fresh water and land. Now I'm just telling you what I've read I've never used one. I remember it being described as a waterproof tesoro lobo. I'm just a beginner myself but thought the tigershark might be worth at least looking into.
