I've used my field test unit at Santa Monica Beach here in S. CA with no problem on the wet sand. Just don't run the machine too hot (i.e. keep the sensitivity low enough so the detector is stable) and you will dig targets at good depths. Remember that this is a concentric coil as opposed to a DD, so if you are gridding an area be sure to overlap your sweeps.

:detecting:Hey Bill thanks for the info My brother and myself just got ours dont do alot of beach hunting here in texas but if we do we herd a lot of the detector wouldnt work very well in the wet sand Used to be stationed at Point Mugu ther in Oxnard while in the Navy But did not do any detecting at the time
