30 minutes then KAPUT!

Recieved my f-75 on wednesday, first new detector in 8 years (1270 has been the best), and took it out yesterday for its first run! Out for about 30 minutes before it quit reading signals and quit ground balancing! Tried coil reconnect, removed batteries, and a few other things...but still nothing! It will give a signal if I lay the coil right ontop of an object but it's not consistent!
Is this problem common for the f-75's??? Should I return to the seller or contact Fisher??? Very frustrating to say the least! Thanks for any advice and help!

Just a shot in the dark but did you try a factory reset? Is the coil connection tight?
