3 x 18 cleansweep

Experiences with the cleansweep and the Vaquero or Tejon
I can't see much advantage in using the cleansweep over the 10 x 12 widescan coil. Both are widescan. The cleansweep being 6" wider is the only advantage I can see.

...but then again, it wasnt designed to go deep, just to cover huge tracts of open land:)

I've not seen any information on the performance of the clean sweep coil. No doubt the 10 x 12 will be deeper and heavier than the clean sweep. Since you have to swing both left and right you would only gain 6" more coverage using the clean sweep.

I doubt seriously that you'd gain any depth over the 12X10. Yes it's 6" longer but isn't it 7" narrower? It's even 2.75" narrower than a 5.75 sniper coil, so wouldn't it get between junk targets better on a slow sweep?

Still looking for someone who has used it.

Talked with the fine folks at Tesoro about the clean sweep for the Vaquero. They stated it would probably be good for up to 4-5". It was designed for quick hunting of an area where you are looking for the more recent drops. Has good detection of small items like gold etc.
