3 wheats and tax token from neat spot

I did not have much time to hunt today but knew of this little area overlooking the Mississippi river . I use to go there as a kid as did the kids 100 years ago . Its a little overhang , a natural shelter . Using a Vaquero with stock coil I found two wheats under there 1940 and 1912 . Also found a Missouri tax token from WWII.

I then started inserting the pinpointer in the holes and crevices of the limestone bluff. I got a signal in one of the holes and dug out the mud by hand . Checked the signal and it was in my hand a, a 1954 s penny . First time I ever found a coin just using a pinpointer .

I spent about thirty minutes there .Heres all four coins together . Also found a couple of brass snaps .

Cool spot hatpin. Do you ever find Indian artifacts in that area?
Also, why is the rock face discolored?

I have never found any Indian artifacts here even though there are Indian mounds directly overhead . The cliff face is discolored because someone had to spray paint it .

Yea, nice going, It's fun to get out at those away places to go detecting. That would be neat to find a coin with the pointer on its own. I might have to try that at the overlook crevis edges to see if something worked its way back in the rocks. Have fun, enjoy, its getting cold here.

HAT PIN THAT S SOME GOOD DIGGING really nice spot .
