3 Tiny Roman Coins

:ukflag:Just thought I'd post a picture of 3 Tiny Roman Coins I dug today.
They are in poor condition due to the heavy damp soil, but the XTerra winkled them out! (I dug a ton of lead as well!)
The field they come from is heavily invested with Iron, at least one piece on every sweep. My Explorer II hates this field, or at least I hate using the Ex II on it.
THe XTerra handles it like a dream. I have found the best setting for iron infested sites is all metal!!!, possibly the oposite of what a lot of people use.
I find I can search must faster by listening to ALL the tones, as this helps me identify the false postive signal from rusty iron (some of it is over 2000 yrs old here) - High Low High,90% its iron, if there is any doubt, I switch to pinpoint, locate the find and sweep again in all metal, this gives a positve ID very quickly.
Again, something I do, that may seem strange is that I dig -3 and above, its suprising how many -3 signals, register positive, once some earth has been removed. One of the Roman coins in the photo was jumping between -3 and +3, once it was in the spoil heap it registerd as +22!
