I went to the river and didn't expect much because my last two short visits were total busts with too many people and not a lot of space to detect. 5 feet from the wall I found a 10K ring at about 6 inches deep. I usually hunt in pro coins mode with my AT/Pro, but ground balanced in zero pro mode and forgot to increase my iron decrimination and was getting all kinds of signals. Hit a solid 47 and found the ring in about 3 scoops. Found quite a bit of junk and then about 8 feet from the wall I got a signal and it wasn't really a good tone or DVI because so many junk targets were under the coil. I dug anyway and at about 8 inches I found my first 18K ring. I initially thought it had been lost recently because of the bright gold color compared to the 10K ring, but no way at 8 inches. I found some more coins and lots of nails and pull tabs and found another ring that I believe was my 2nd 14 K ring. Anyway, my pouch turned upside down in the water and I went to the car and drained it on the way and some bottle caps fell out and either I lost the last ring in the water or it fell out with the trash and bounced in the grass and somebody else found it when I went to the car. I had bought the camo pouch with two zippers, but didn't have it zipped up and when I get tired I do doofus things. I found $1.05 in clad, another costume ear bob and perhaps a gold ear ring, but no marks on it and I haven't got around to getting a gold test kit. I had the lake to myself for about 2 hours and then the crowd showed up and I had to leave. Here are some photos of what I found.

2nd photo is the ear ring I hope is gold, 3rd photo is 10K ring with small stone and face like a holy cross, but photo not clear enough to show, 4th photo is costume ear bob, 5 & 6 photo is my 1st 18K ring. It has some type of stone, also. I mostly water hunt now because land hunting is so hard on my back and knees and hips, but after about 4 hours in the water and using a new method to me of emptying my scoop instead of just shaking it out, my hips have give me a fit. I lift it up just above the hole I scoop and put my foot between the step part of the scoop and the bottom and just use those larger leg muscles and shake it right over the hole and it works better for me. After I read somebody's post to fill your holes in even in the water I try and work the sand back where it's level and that may be why the hips are bothering me, but I've been trying to do that for the last 3-4 visits. I'm happy to find some gold and especially happy to find my first 18K ring and hope if I lost the other ring in the water to find it. I do have some competition at this spot, but there is enough for both of us.
