Got out this morning with my M6 and 6X10 coil to an old area that used to have an old farm house on it ( 1922 Topo map) and part of the grounds are now in a park area.
Setting the Disc to 9 o'clock and turning the Sens up as high as possible without falsing, I was getting some nice signals. The ones that showed the good tones and VDI and that were over 5 inches were the targets I was looking for. I had a couple of surface visual coins I picked up, but most were dug.

Found 2 boattail bullets, 30 caliber, 165 grain weight, the usual clad coins, and 3 good keeper coins.
1938 Wheat, 1929 Wheat and a 1934 Washington quarter.

... and some nice bit or research. I've been doing the same, hounding some old topo's for possible out-of-the-way sites.
