3 more hours at the apartments...

Went back to the apartments again today and gave it 3 hours at 12 kHz!!!

Walked out of there with $5.67 in clad but still no silver coins - I'm beginning to think that those were all sucked up 35-40 years ago, but even with the technology then, whoever couldn't have got them all! Found a nice Balfour medal probably from the 1950s - I'm thinking it was an ROTC award or maybe something to do with a fraternity given the history of the apartment inhabitants over the years.

A most interesting signal I almost didn't dig really surprised me - I got a large and steady "94" in 12 kHz, but thought it to be a bottlecap since it was so loud and the silencer was on "0" all day long. Flipped over a clod of dirt and 6 stacked clad quarters rolled out to greet me. These were only an inch deep and really made the detector sing.

Still having trouble with bottlecaps on these lower silencer settings - I know the easy solution is to just up the silencer and forget about it, but I'm not big on missing those 7" deep plus coins that could be the elusive silver goodies I've never found there...

Deepest coin of the day was a 7" dime dated 1965...missed it by one stinking year! Maybe next hunt I can hit some private property to ease my bottlecap woes :help:

Cool finds. Where are these apartments? I mean exactly, I need to travel to horn in on your ever producing apartments, I will!

LOL

Nice job,

I don't know how far you live from MEM, but I'd love to see what someone else could pull from there - bottlecaps are very plentiful and 12 kHz seems more attracted to them! Would love to see someone with a CTX or Etrac take a stab at some deep 10-inch plus silver there - just to satisfy my curiosity if nothing else!

I traded a CTX in on my Deus. The weight and lack of balance was terrible. I personally thought the CTX hit very strongly on copper but was weak on silver. When I passed the Deus over that 1939 Merc, it screamed loader than any Minelab I ever owned. The Deus is going to beat anything in trash. This machine is super fast!

I'd come down and give the area a go with my CTX but 1) it's a 13 hour drive 2) my CTX is in for repair.
Though, I did live in Millington many years back but went to Memphis as much as I could, I remember the lighting of the bridge festival/party.
