1. Are the headphones that come with the detector very good. Any better ones that might be recommended?
2. What coil is recommended for relics in the Northeast(little trash)
3. Does anyone really care if Saddam dies? (unrelated)
Thank you all in advance : )

1. the stock headphones don't block outside noise very well, I'm using Grey Ghost NDT. The interchangable cord can be a vacation saver.
2. I'm hunting in Tenn and am using a Sunray X-12 with great success coin shooting but know other guys that do equally well relic hunting with it or with the WOT coil.
3. Would prefer if he was.

1, Headphones are light sound good but won't last forever. I have the NDT's aswell.
2, The stock is a great coil and will serve you well in Disc. and depth. Tried the Sunray x-12 and did decent on coins but wasn't pleased with its sensitivity to small targets. Will give the WOT a try this year. I have relic hunted with the Explorer for 2.5 years and know what works in my area. Stock coil most of the time!
3, To hell with the Devil!

I bought the Killer B head phones they cost $79.95 and that includes shipping, they are made with the exact same componets except Killer B's have a heavier cord running into the ear muffs.they are about $40 bucks cheaper then the Gray Ghost line.
Stay with the Two stock Coils the 10 1/2" and the so called 8" that is really 7 3/8" they are both deep. You will only save weight with the sunray 12"
definately get a Sunray probe and detector stand with the money you want to spend.
As for the Jerk in Iraq God deals with us all in the end.he'll pay in eternity in HELL....

Tidbit I used the stock phones for a short time and they developed a short which caused them to cut in and out. I purchased a pair of Grey Ghost NDT phones and there is a world of difference, I would definitely recommend them. As far as the coil goes, if you have very little trash I would use the stock coil at the very least, and if you did not mind spending the money go to a larger coil than the stock coil. You will cover more ground and probably git a little more depth. HH

I also use the Gray Ghosts. Block out lots of noise, keep your ears warm, and can hear the smallest peeps.
The standard coil is great in untrashy areas and gets great depth.
Kill him up.

3. Kill Sadam? What about the innocent women and children who will be killed doing this? Plus the allied soldiers killed by American 'friendly fire'? Diplomacy is the way, not the trigger finger gung-ho way a texan cowboy wants!

The Minelab Explorer headphones are mediocre. Of course, at least they come with the detector, unlike most makes where phones are optional, so you can't rag on Minelab too much. Get yourself some better phones, even if only a $30 pair. Better yet a nice $50-100 set.
I would think you'd want the stock 10 inch coil or a larger aftermarket coil for deep relics and little trash. Depends on brush manueverability.

1. The headphones that come in the box are fine for listening to your DiscMan but not so great for detecting. Definitely invest in some better cans. I use Jolly Rogers but before I got those I used a pair of Calrads that I had laying around and they were better than the factory phones.
2. The Stock 10.5" coil should work fine for relics. I haven't used anything bigger yet so I can't comment too much on this topic.
3. Saddam? Well we shoulda got him when we had the chance the FIRST time I had to go over there. Now I probably gotta go AGAIN. Kill Him? Most definitely. When he won the Walter Matthau Look-alike contest it was RIGGED because everyone was scared of what he'd do if he didn't get first place. I have seen the 2nd place winner and he looks MUCH more like Walter Matthau than Saddam does. If we take out Saddam then the 2nd place guy can ascend to his RIGHTFUL place on the Walter Matthau Look-alike Throne. It's high time that justice be done to this matter!!!!
