3 hr. hunt in River

Went to the River for 3 hrs. from 3:00 pm till 6:00pm, had the entire place to myself only saw 2 boats on river. Didn't find any gold , but found one .925 charm and one junk plated ring. I had a signal close to a big rock, after about 6 scoops I was under the edge of the rock, but still no loot. Decided to move the rock with my scoop so I could dig with a little more ease. When I rolled the rock over I found a pull tab encrusted in the bottom of the rock, that was my loot. Still beats sitting at home.

LOOKING UP THE RIVER, FROM WAIST DEEP.

It's know as 'conglomerate". Short version is that it is an accumulation of metal corrosion and native elements that form into a solid mass.

Usually it happens at or near bedrock or clay. I know guys who hunt for 'conglomerate', take the pieces of it home, bust them up and find goodies that are embedded in them. If there's a pulltab in it there could be coins and rings in it too.

Whenever you find a piece of that, take it home and break it up with a hammer. I know guys who have done that with pieces they found on shipwrecks and have found gold coins embedded in it.
