3 Hours starting at low tide - one meager ticket and saw one old friend and one new friend

Sailed down to the surflane right at low tide...........kinda overslept

ran into Cmdr. Jim, nice seeing him, he has been on surf leave for a spell..............another new guy joins us, John from Norfolk................new as in we have never met him

Now if i could get gold dan out of the mountains and ron out of winter hibernation, it would be like old times again.

did not see the professor nor the blue beast

later on i run into big rich

only thing i could snag away from the surf god today was a nice little silver looking ring...............need imput as to what it might be

does not appear to be overly exciting - stamped inside

18KROP

weather permitting, i plan on hitting the evening low tide, but forecast is kinda b l e a k...........we shall see

Hey GraveDiggerMax I was wondering what beach you are hunting or what state you are hunting in. I live in Ringgold Georgia and would like to get out and hunt with other people from different states plus try some new beaches. I have only hunted the small swimming beaches around here and the beaches in Pensacola more than a few times.

it's probably a "G". RGP stands for "Rolled Gold Plate", a form of heavy gold plating. I've found a few 18K RGP Nitros myself.

HH from Allen in MI

Edited to add:
I just looked at the post you did with the closeup image of the stamp. That is DEFINITELY 18K RGP. While it's not solid 18K, it's a high-quality junker.

Sorry to bring this bad news. 18KRGP stands for "18 karat Roll Gold Plated". You can be sure there is less than 1/20th the weight of the ring in the amount of 18K gold that is plated.
