I hit 4 different lakes, 5 beaches and some old sites going to the 1920's. The beaches are now much cleaner when I was through with them. Here's the proof.........

The money aspect finds of the trip was pretty good. My expenses were minimal, as I slept in my SUV with the seats folded down. I survived on trail mix, cans of diet Coke, beef jerky and some healthy hot-lime corn chips.

I have always enjoyed finding religious paraphernalia, so it was a a great getting a necklace with a couple of medallions which I haven't got, of which I can proudly add to my collection.

I was driving down some old gravel roads, when I came upon an old community hall. There was a sign showing it was built in 1920. I had to make a few operating frequency adjustments, as there was a power line just above the road causing some interference. It calmed down on one of them, and go figure, directly below the power line a got a signal in the 80's, about 5" down. What a surprise! Out popped a 1898 Barber Quarter. It sure was found far, far away from home. Was it a Souveneer ?, spending money? I will never know, but proud to get such a niece piece of history.......

Here's a couple of silver rings which each came from a different lake. There was lots of oxidation, which took me a while to remove and get the silver below it to a bright luster. Here's a before and after shot.

Here's the prize! It made all the "roughing it" all worth while. A nice 22k gold ring......found of course with a gold hunting machine.......the AT GOLD :)

Cool! I found the exact same barber quarter a couple of months ago. It is exciting to find that old U.S. coinage in Canada. The gold ring is sweet too, what was the VDI on it?.

As my machine was under water, I just dug everything that sounded good without looking at the VDI numbers, however, it air tests at 46-47 range. Scary, as that's the foil range.

I find it scary that I have dug piles of foil and tabs and not once found a gold ring. I have found many good things, but I am jealous of you guys with the gold rings!

That being said, rings like yours will keep me digging all that foil!

What a great Adventure! Three uninterrupted days of treasure hunting! Very nice assortment of excellent finds there John!:clapping:

Way to go, John! That is a gorgeous gold ring!! and I think that's your second "Lord of the Rings" ring, too. Very cool.

Great finds! I get out about once a month, guess I'm going to have to get serious about this hobby! :goodnight:

John,
You always do so well, I have a question.
Do you have someone go out first and put down all the goodies you come up with?
Seriously, I know you put in lots of hours, I use an Infinium at the beach until my wrecked back pains
me, usually just under an hour. I really can't balance in the surf with my back issues so I enjoy your posts.
Thanks for sharing your hunts with us always a pleasure to read your posts.
Rich

Good to hear from you Rich....I sometimes put in 7 hour days water hunting and don't like to quit until I find something decent. We only have 5 months of swimming weather, do the swimmers swim lots and the water hunters hunt lots. Too bad about your back. When I start hurt'n, I take over the counter pain meds, often times before I even start hunting. I like hunting in the deeper water, as the machine isn't as heavy.

All the best to you Rich!

A definite "Haul" of Fame trip. You covered more in 3 days than I could in a year.

Wow you are a champ! That gold ring looks beefy. How much does it weigh out of curiousity? I betcha you have a small fortune there :)

Great find congrats I pulled a thin 14k womens garnet and diamond ring last year that came in @ 46-47 so I always check that signal its great knowing that one day it might be 22k instead of 14 Congrats again @ happy huntin
