3 days at Turtle Beach. ?????

I am spending 3 days next week at Turtle Beach just south of Siesta Key, Fl. in a campground on the Beach. That in itself will be great. I plan on hunting all around that immediate area. Looks like on Goggle earth that you can walk from Turtle beach to Siesta Key Beach in the water, with exception of some rocks about halfway, is anyone familiar with that area? Can I expect to find sandy beaches with few shells to clog the scoop, or will I need a sifter to drag behind me. I will be in the water most of the time. Thanks for comments about this area. HH

Hey man! I live in the Bradenton area but I work in Sarasota and thats only a stones throw from Siesta. Siesta is a beautiful beach that is always busy. You will find a mix of sand and some shelly areas but the beach sand is some of the finest in the world. It's liek walking on flour. You can probably get away without the sifter. There is a main public beach house and a few other entrances to the beach. Be sure to check out the entrance attached to "the village" area (where all the restaurants and clubs are. People go out for a night on the town and then walk out onto the beach from there. I would bet it holds some loot. Good Luck and if you have any other questions or need some suggestions for dinner or anything PM me. I'd be happy to help! -Dig
