Thats the limit of all my shoulder and arm was able to take swinging the G T.....The detector ran perfectly.... but targets were SLIMMMMMM....3 water hunters and me sanding it... they came away with NADA..... I got a meager dime and 6 pennys... I dug some nulls to see what they may hold and most were bobby pins....

Good hunt.. just wish there was more targets to hear on what sounds like what..

Mark, wow...I'm up by Cleveland and the small lakes and even lake Erie beaches I hunt (several) I rarely see another water hunter unless it's one of my friends. And you have to hunt lake Erie beaches in early morning as they frown on you hunting when people start showing up, so I'd expect to see other guys right at sunrise hunting with us. Only a handful of times have I saw one or maybe two water hunters other than the few guys I hunt with. On the other hand, I've seen maybe 6 or 7 sand hunters over about a year or two at these places, but every single one of them just about were using cheap machines. And I can only count maybe one or two of them that were hunting with their coil near the sand and swinging properly. Everybody else was swinging a foot off the ground almost and lifting the coil at the ends of swings. One of them, in fact, came over and bragged about how he works this particular beach almost every day due to being on disability. I said what did you find, and he proudly pulled a handful of clad out of his pocket, then smiled and said "I know how to avoid all the junk and only get coins and other good stuff." Meaning, he is turning up his discrimination and so missing most of the rings. He didn't even have an apron, and I noticed he was leaving the trash right next to his holes. No wonder this beach was loaded with pull tabs and other junk, because if he was working that beach on a semi-daily basis all that stuff should have been long gone. This beach is so trashy that I've attempted to hunt it only in small marked off areas at a time and just dig everything. Still takes me a few hours to work say a 20 x 20 to maybe a 40 x 40 foot area. It's that trashy, so I'm sure there are tons of rings laying around.

I hit my site this morning with my GT and 10" Tornado coil for almost 4 hours and only found Lincolns. My battery called it quits before I did so I grabbed my DFX to go another couple hours. More pennies! D'oh! Im in the habit of bringing two detectors with me wherever I hunt. My hunt was good to just because I was out on this beautiful day. HH. Matt

Slim pickins here to . . . But days like that are what make the good days really shine.

Mark, you'll hit that sweet spot keep swinging. There is still a lot left to be found.Good Luck Ron

Where are you'll hunting on the beaches? I have found that the sweet spots are at low tide along the water line,a few feet above the water line at low tide, or in the shallow water.
