3.2g 18k bracelet found in prospect mode

I Spent 5 hours at the beach today. Our beaches are not getting the volume of visitors we get in the summer, but the beach bar and grills still draw the customers. I change my hunting pattern from the cabanas and towel line to the large area traveled between the waters edge and the hotels/bars that people must go to and from. I hit some change that has been there a while, not the usual shinny fresh drops. $4.91 total including a Sacajawea and a 56d wheat. A Harley Davidson Zippo, (that's two HD lighters I've found) some beach hard wear, token, junk jewelry, and a matchbox car.
After commenting on the 705 and prospecting mode on another post, I thought about giving it a try on the beach volley ball courts after I had gone over them in all metal. Most of these sand courts are really clean, no bottle caps or pull tabs, so if you hit something its usually coin or if your lucky jewelry. The first court I hit in prospect detected a 750/18k bracelet that weighs 3.2g, Pretty sure the little cats are solid and not hollow.....Needless to say, I will be using prospect on these areas more often this summer. awesome ... I love the cross, lighter and GOLD

Excellent Bob! :clapping:
See...prospector mode does have a use beyond the gold fields.

thanks for posting your loot. Its good to live vicariously through guys who can still hunt during the winter!

I'm with you Mojo!

How deep was it Bob? Did you change to AM to see if it read? Ask because I'm interested in trying the prospect mode on the beach.
705 in AM w the 10.5 HF coil has got me (too) many sequins down to 6" -pieces of junk jewelry even deeper and a few tiny clasps 7"+.(gold & silver)
When I do the dry sand w the 705 I have to bring a PP for all of those tiny hits.

And-nice find. I enjoy your posts.

Thanks GT.......The beach volleyball courts look like a choppy bay with all the deep foot imprints in the soft sand. I do hunt in AM all the time on the beach with the sens at 23 most of the time. I hunted the area first in AM and then went over it again in prospect. The bracelet was not deep in the sand, but was at the bottom of an indentation. I can't say at what depth or configuration it was laid out when I found it. I can get a tone and 4/ 6 TID in an air test in AM at a couple inches when its bunched up in my hand, but it's inconsistent sometimes on the return swing, sometimes nulling out, and when streached out its very jumpy to no tone or TID at all. I know that in prospect I knew something was there and dug it. I've tried prospect on the open beach before and don't care for it, but on the clean courts I think it's worth a try. If I get another chain in future hunts it will reinforce my faith.

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to experiment with some chains some more.
Hitting sequins, painted Rhinestones and tiny clasps had me convinced that I'd pick up a chain at the same or even a little deeper depths. Those targets were all on dry, cratered sand also.
