It has been a rough month and I was thinking that I would leave May
being almost skunked. That changed this evening.
Background - I took three entire days off to MD at the beginning of May and found one Merc 1925 dime. Not even a flat button or bullet the whole month. My father in law advised that they were tearing a new neighborhood next to his house last Friday. I went last Friday night and found nothing (shotgun shells) I arrived to try again Sat afternoon, My GTI1500 (3 month old was fried -would not power up). Sent that to Garrett on Monday. I bought a used 1250 with
a 7*10 that has been sitting in closet and fired that up for the first time Sunday - again found shotgun shells and didn't think the 1250 was very good. ( however I also knew that I had not given it a good target to find). I was giving up on the
new neighborhood and told my wife I would give one more try tonight and that would be it! I had two good targets tonight, The reales were about 50 yards apart which is driving me crazy wondering what other coins and who knows what else is there. To the 1250 credit the second
was under a piece of rusty barbed wire and nailing loud over the low
iron beep - I always hunt all metal. I honestly never thought I would find one reale much less two the same day! One is a 1790 and the other a 1781. You can see the 2 atop the crown on the left one.
