I spent over 8 hours there today, lots of trash again, a lot of pennies a 1874H Canadian dime, 1966 American quarter, 1996 20 Centimos (Peru), some sort of brass cap with a stem on the reverse the small stack are wheat pennies and there' the bit of clad. I was really surprised again as the coins were all within 3 or so inches. The 1874 dime was about an inch down under a huge tree and it looks like only moss grows there. It's gettin easier to hear the tones with gettin the trash away. Mind you quite a few were found between the trash. That Iron audio is great to have for picking. What shocked me is the 74 rang in at a strong 80-81, pennies always hit mine 81-82. So something to be said for digging pennies lol. Cheers an hh.

Nice pouchfull there, Jon! That 1874 is even older than I am

Nice hunt and that 1874 dime is a wonderful find. That 1900 Barber dime I dug the other day came in at 80/81. Wasn't expecting to see silver. Being it was well worn is probably the reason. Good hunting. HH jim tn

lol thanks guys, an thanks William for the laugh. I did some checking on the 1874, also had a friend check it out, it's close to or is non- circulated condition with the die stamp ridges still intact and also a die break ridge and there is no detail missing on it, like circulated coins. It just may be a nice keeper, one company has one for sale is less shape than this one for over 1600.00. hh an cheers.

Man, that made it a productive day! Aren't you glad you didn't nick it?? heh.

Sweet old dime. I got a 72 fish last year and it was rougher. Good for you.

Thanks guys, well I would a been pretty upset if I nicked it, I put it on a site and a fellow there figures it's at least a MS-60 and the pics are not close up at all. UN do you find it hard findin silver coins up here, I have 3 so far in just over 3 years of detecting. HH
