2nd time out with Vaquero

Went to a local park today to practice with my new Vaquero. I don't like hunting parks, too many people on nice days like today. I found the most secluded spot I could and detected for about an hour. Was surprised to find the Barber dime at a depth of only about 2 inches.
Still not sure if I'm getting it ground balanced correctly although seems to get good depth when I lay a coin on the ground and swing over it. Can the ground balance indicator knob be in any position or is it usually in the top half ?

Clint it is all determined by the gound condition such as minerilized or not just do the best you can by ground balancing according to the manual or check out 53silvers vid on youtube they will help a lot and by the way nice finds you may have it set better than you think but if you move the sens any momentarily push the pinpoint button and bob the coil up and down to check the ground balance again I usually run might slightly positive in parks

Nice Barber Dime!

Nice finds for day 2! That Vaquero will give you some excellent depth. Just remember when you're in an area where targets can be 7 inches deep or more, keep the Thresh hold at a setting of 1 o'clock or higher.

Thanks for all the advice, I appreciate it. I'm not use to manual ground balance but I don't think it will take long to get the hang of it. I'm looking forward to my next outing with it.
