2nd time CTX 3030 - 2 gold

El Niño storms and large swells have pounded San Diego beaches severely eroding the upper beach in certain areas. Too much trash/iron exposed for the PI and the Deus is not stable enough to get any real depth. CTX 3030 arrived Thursday and I took it for a short night hunt at high tide. Not too much beach to work with but got a good feel for the machine. Hit a good low tide today after a large swell and pulled a 10K with stones (test real) and 18K electroplated with stones (not real). So many lead sinker and zinc targets I stopped digging them towards the end of my hunt and hit the rings. Hit some deep quarters and a wheatie also. So far so good. Forum has been really helpful! Back out tomorrow for another good low tide.

Get you a 17" coil and be impressed all over again.
Great Finds! Congrats!

Yes, I made sure it was the newer seal and cuff lock. I usually only hunt up to waist deep and that's only on occasion but for the price it should be waterproof as marketed. Slim pickings today as the sand was back in most areas but was still able to pull a silver quarter off an iron infested, heavily mineralized and eroded beach down to gravel/rock. It's either a 1950 or 1956... Have to clean it. Impressive machine!
