2nd Silver of the year and its a good one!

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to share a great find I made last Sunday. 1780 Spanish 1R. What an awesome suprise! The location is all wooded now but once was an farmstead dating back to the late 1700's. I was finding a lot of old buttons and pewter items the past few time I have hunted there so I was hoping for some silver :) Thanks everyone for looking. Good luck and HH!

Nice find !!!

Very nice, I am jealous!

Thanks laser god. Don't be jealous. Get out there on them farm fields and dig your self one! Spanish reales were used and an acceptable form of US currency till around the 1850's. That potentially puts them across the country. I'm sure more common in the north eastern states but still a chance anywhere :)

I bet it was paper thin.

Actually no so much, defiantly more meat on it that the 1/2 reals.
