Well I hope you guys don't mind my squirrel analogy, because I'm feeling like a blind squirrel, and also feeling lucky because the
field that I found the ring in is now turning in some silver.. (and the happy dance is in full force)
I found the 50 cent piece at about 3 inches, read as a quarter so I was thinking great..another clad quarter. (woe is me right?)
and out pops this beautiful 1943 standing liberty. It's only the second one I've ever found personally, so I was pretty happy to see it.
Soo walking about 40-50 feet further I got a very intermittent signal penny-dime type at about 5 inches down. And it was strong at 22.4 and 2.5
a little stronger at the 2.5 so I decided to dig it, and see what's up. Yup another silver..woot..1943 merc. (Merc's are one of my favorite coins)
Then on another leg of my grid I hit a pretty good quarter signal and dug the memorial token, for Operation Northern Watch, looks like a military commemorative for Incirlik Turkey. It was still in the leather pouch which is under the token in the picture.
All in all a great weekend of hunting, and finds!!
oh..and my advice to others.. is Grid the fields, go slow (very slow) dig the iffies, and maybe you're in for a nice surprise.
(all found tonight in HiPro, and the D2)
