Found 1829 Large cent. Second one in two days. Using 10x12 SEF. Missed it with 8x6 SEF. Was about 6 inches down. Rang up as VDI 88. Never thought I would find another one or at least the next day. Nice shape for a very old coin.

Howdy nalc472--

Hey you are on a roll! Keep it going! Just wondering what VDI's you are accepting? My thinking is that you are hunting a great site, finding some old coinage where you could find some of the unusual coins. One dollar gold VDI's in the 10-14 range as do 3 cent nickles. Flying Eagle Cents and copper nickle Indians ring in in the mid 30's VDI range. I guess what I am saying is at that site - if it beeps dig hahahha. It wouldn't surprise me if your next post was of a gold coin that you dug. I hope so! Best of luck and...

Happy Hunting!
Blind Squirrel

Thanks blind squirrel. The landowner called yesturday and told my wife that it would not be a good idea to hunt due to legal risks. Good I was already done.
I left him many artifacts. The land has been in his family for 200 years. I think he will be impressed with the finds.
