2nd Gold Ring Found This Year :clapping:

Sven

Well-known member
Found using my Eldorado Umax.

By chance going to garage sales spotted a sports field than has been scrapped of surface grass and soil, all water system pipes have also been removed.
Managed to hunt 1/3 of the grounds this morning, going back shortly as I may not get another chance. Workers had the day off today.

Found a 10K gold ring within 5 minutes of hunting. Now stoked, hoping to find more gold....didn't but did find quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies, shoe spikes, strap holders
and the usual amount of crapola. So far todays finds exceed the finds found here in the past as the local guys must have cleaned out the shallow finds. Will post pictures after my afternoon-evening hunt.

Before hitting the field went to the local large city beach, spotted another hunter, went over to talk and noticed some one hunted grid fashion the whole beach. The other hunter was disappointed as well. He said the person hunted last night but, he still managed to find a few coins. I found about 8 dimes in one area right in the middle of his foot path in the sand.
Guess he set his disc up to high. I left this beach and went to another small one and found a bunch of coins.

Nice going. The Tesoro Eldorado uMax is one sweet machine. I hit a scraped field (grubbed) a few days ago with my Bandido and racked up a bunch of coins, but no gold.

Sven,
Congrats on the gold.

Back in June I was talking with a beach hunter who's preference is to run a very tight grid over a small area of heavily used beach and move the hunt area each day until he has covered the beach then start over. He had some good recoveries. Talked to another beach hunter on the same beach who said he didn't have the heart to tell the guy running the tight grid that the week before, he randomly swept the area and pulled up gold right where the guy just gridded and just after he left. Any inch of the grid that wasn't fully overlapped with the coil leaves the chance of an unclaimed treasure.
Cheers,
tvr

Went back to the scrapped surface field, within 15 minutes, kicked over the dirt where I got a good signal. Out came the second gold ring for the
day. 8kt gold. Only time I ever have any luck like this is if I go water hunting..........and that is not often.
Dug up some more pennies, dimes, nickels and quarters. Hoping for some silver in the change but nothing. Most coins dated from the 1970-80's.
Since I hunted until sundown 9:40PM, didn't get any pictures taken yet of the finds.
Forgot to take the camera was going to show what it looks like scraped. Did manage to find a pix on google maps.

Clad from scraped ball field.
$12.75
10Kt ring 6.15 dwt $212.86 US
18Kt ring 2.75 dwt $171.19 US

Clean Clad from beach
$5.45

Excellent finds! Going to garage sales sure paid dividends with finding the field!

Finds like that make me want to get out in the 110 degree heat index and do some swing.:detecting:

Super nice!

Prepare to spent hours looking........married, don't be surprised if your wife gets nasty about you spending too much time on the computer and ignoring her.
