2nd dollar coin this season

20 MPH winds out of the NE made the lake a little too choppy to kayak in so I couldn't get to the sandbar today. Instead, I took the bike to a tot lot to feed my habit. I used my super sniper coil to get close to the equipment and came away with $4.29 in clad in just over an hour including my second dollar coin this season; this time a Sacagawea. Are you guys finding any of these? I know the post office stamp machines use them for change but I've never been handed one instead of a bill in a store.

Nice find. Sorry I missed you at the track. Hops to sneeze many more posts from you this fall. HH Dutch

Nice! yeah it seems they are best found in totlots, at least here where I hunt.. I think back..I got a nice spill of four of them this spring after a festival in the grass I remember, generally get a few at the soccerfields and all, but the majority of them have come from totlots for me..I cant remember how many I found last year when I was on that mega cladstab spree to get 10,000 coins, over 20 I'm sure, probably more, but they are rare for us to find in the States and a real pleasant surprise when a guy finds one! Nice job! And No, I've never gotten one for change..keep hitting that totlot occasionally, seems the kids that lose them lose them often...some totlots have them, and most do not, but the ones you find them in seems to keep coughing them up all year long...If you want a good trick, leave a penny or nickle under the swings or the horizontal bars and when you go back, you can check and see if your coin is still there, it will tell you if somebody hunted this place since you were last there, and you can hunt it accordingly...I do that in all my totlots...I call it the "Tell Penny"
Mud.

Hey Dutch. Good to hear from you; had my eyes peeled for you at the track when I went. Hope you're still digging up those old cast iron toys! HH, mac

I found one of those last summer. It sure gets your heart pumping when you get a good solid tone and uncover something gold colored. After my heart started beating again I tossed it in the clad pile.

Congrats on finding on of those! I have never found one of the Sacajawea? I have only found 1 of the new version ones, Beale.
