2nd Detector

I currently have a Garrett GTAx 550 and it is excellent for it's capability. This was my first detector and I am relatively new to detecting. I want to get a better detector with more features and capability. I have narrowed it down to the GXI 1500, GTP 1350, and the Spectrum XLT for my price range. From various field tests read and other info seen, these are the ones I need to consider. Anyone have any opinions or suggestions?

get a new xlt spectrum e-series , learn to use it, and don't look back.

What is everybody's slightly biased opinions on the finest coin hunting detector available, and what makes it so?
Which detector is not too complicated to use, can see coins through the junk, and let you know the difference between a nickel and chewed up aluminum cans?
Extra points for a detector that can go wading, has an accurate depth indicator, and has a few accesory coils avaliable.

If I open the machine up to accept everything I can hear a good coin in the junk on both machines. I don't know if the DFX has a waterproof coil or not though?

I have been doing a lot of research for my next detector... maybe too much... eyes are getting tired of reading so much.
My conclusion is for a coin, jewelry, relic detector the Explorer II is the way to go. You can fire it up right out of the box and go searching. After you get used to the machine you can fine tune it for whatever conditions you hunt in. And by all that I have read... it goes deep.
The DFX is also a great detector, with a big learning curve.
Do the research yourself. No detector is best for every condition or type of hunting. The Minelab Explorer will be my next machine..
