2nd day with the T2

I took the T2 out again and the noise it makes was better, I used tone 2+ disc on about 25. The problem I had was overloaded on targets. The depth said one inch the targets were a lot deeper not all of them some were big targets the pennies were deep and the depth was off.

But over load on a lot or iron targets like thin sheets of rusted iron. I dug a lot more trash & very few good targets. It seems the iron ID is kind of high sometimes in the 90 sometimes in the 40 clean beep. But a lot of overloads that were junk and some of them were pipes that were deep. So what is up with that. Still a lot to learn and this is sure different from the other detectors I use. I just need time and maybe a cleaner lot to hunt in>:nopity:

Hello Lawrenzo,

Nice abundance of finds, The spike is from an old plow maybe 1890-1910.

How high was the sensitivity and did you properly ground balance?

Please don't be alarmed with the overloading, And the depth is right on the money with coin size objects. You just haven't got the T-2 basics down yet which comes in time, You need to continue digging targets to learn what the T-2 is telling you. Plus, Experiment with buried coin size targets from a test bed.

Running with the 2+ audio mode with discrimination set at 25 created your unit to have one tone, The disc set at 25 knocked out the iron "low tone" which is fine for most hunters and I suppose will get the new T-2 user to learn the machine quicker avoiding the abundance of iron signals.

Practice and have patience, You need to use the unit and dig allot of targets to learn what the detector is telling you. Pin-point mode can also tell you how large a target is, I don't use pin-point but can see how it will help a new T-2 user giving them information to determine to dig or not to dig. Hard to explain here and the best approach for you is to dig allot of targets and learn from them.

The T-2 is really a simple machine to learn, But you also need to learn how to read the ground with what the machine is telling you, This applies for any detector.

Once you understand the mechanics of a detector and learn how to read the ground, You can switch back and forth with any detector on the planet with ease.

Have patience, It will come if you continue to dig allot of targets and learn by them. We've all been there, It's tough at first but at the end it's smooth sailing.

See you soon,

I was looking at the Teknetics website and the manual, and let me see if I got this right; with the T2 you can choose how the signal is interpeted and relayed to you: one way is most detectors will count the amount of hits in a swing averege out the intensities combined and relay this to yo via Meter, the other way just looks at each individual hit and shows that and with a fast and sensitive machine like the T2 that could be like 5 or 6 seperate readings in each swing and if you don't know this is going on you might think the darned thing is loco en la cabeza and wrap it around the nearest tree.
Its a wonderful thing to be able to break down the minute bits in a 1 second swing I just don't know if I can handle so much information coming at me, I'm used to beep and dig, I guess what I'm getting at is it fun using the T2, is it relaxing or do you feel like you're sitting at mission control.
