2nd day with Ace 250..... MUCH BETTER!!!!

Well yesterday I was having trouble digging alot of holes with nothing in them. Well today is a much better day. I only found 1 penny but out of the 20 holes i dug I found somthing in 18 of them :) Getting use to this detector a little bit. I have put the machine in Jewelry mode and went to the old girl scout camp for about an hour I just did a small area on the outskirts by the road as it gets dark early in the forest WOW!!!

I should have had more time but practiced at my house beforehand. But in this mode and sensitivity at 6 I got alot less beeps and ALOT more pulltabs lol. Aluminum foil wrapping for sandwiches and a handle for rolling up a window. Lets see did I say PULLTABS!!! This machine is a magnet for them. I also had a popcan way down deep. Some small metal pieces and top to an old oil can.

I must say this is much better than my first experience. Cant wait to differentiate better and pull less crap. Still all in all had alot of fun. But like I said woods are pretty dark and daunting way before it is on the outside.

I think fall would be a better time as less dam mosquitoes. That was my fun for today. Getting better. Hope to find somthing good soon :)

You will still be pulling crap out of the ground after you get more experience..
In Jewlry mode the aluminum really chimes the bells of an Ace.
Finding 18 out of 20 targets is a great way to gauge your skill in learning a new detector.
The tones of your Ace are subtle when sending your brain info.
Been swinging mine for a little over a year and still wish I was further along in mastering the unit.
Crap in the ground that is made of metal is gonna register to a metal detector....just keep wading through it.

Read my reply to TN Girls latest. That video will improve your detecting.

That sounds like a good site that will provide years of detecting. Maybe not the best place to start, though. I think the best place to start is someplace where there isn't too much trash. I have a few schools where I've never dug a single pop top. Lots of pencil erasers, though. Figure out where the camp store was and try around there. Also where the girls swam, played volleyball, softball.

I use te Ace 250 frequently. I've had mine almost two years. Sometimes I have the same
problem with not finding anything in the hole, but after I bought the Garrett Pin-pointer,I ALWAYS find
the target. I hate to sound like a fanatic over thwe Garrett Pro-pointer but its made a whole world
difference in my MDing experience. It will save you w whole lot of time digging/finding your target.

Watch your depth meter when you swing over a target if it only moves a little it is a small target a can when you swing over it will lets jump from 1 inch to 6 inches because of length of target.Watch your meter good coins will usually not jump up and down the scale like dime iron foil dime coins usually stay in coin area unless there is junk close to it or in hi mineral area.To high power setting is going to cause ringing on way on bad targets iron or rusted item ring usually one way,to high power setting causes feedback from bad ground .Sniper coil is very good in high trash areas and get great depth and separation.Ive been metal detecting for around 15 years have 6 different machines and numerous coils, been using ace 250 for around three years it is a good machine and will finds coins and jewelery with not to much problems.Hope this helped some

When I started with My 250 I left the sensitivity at the factory level Three? I did well in finding targets and recovering them. Try A lower setting in till you learn the tones.
Good luck. Keep digging trash, That is were you'll find the good stuff. D.

Not only that, but there is usually much less tall grass and weeds in the winter too, so
it's easier to swing and stay low enough to do some good.
Less snakes too as long as it's cold enough to put them in the slug mode.
