2500 Vocal response???

Hangar18

New member
When testing my Garrett 2500 in the house with multiple coins, I get this response when I wave a silver dollar over the coil.
First it say's 12(okay I get that)
Then when I press the imaging button it says "5 B at two inches"

WHAT IS THE "5" SHE IS REFERRING TO"????? Almost all coins get this response.
Sorry, major beginner here!
Eric

Its better when the target is buried.

GTI 2500 is saying "Size B" not "5 B":wiggle:
"Size B" as in coin sized.
"Size A" = smaller than coin
"Size B" = coin sized
"Size C" = belt buckle size, bracelet, maybe large ring
"Size D" = soda can sized
"Size E" = larger than a soda can

Feel free to ask for advice at anytime.:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

What your machine is saying is the following.

8 size B at 4 inches would be either a dime or a copper penny at 4 inches deep.

9 plus size B at 4 inches would be a quarter at 4 inches deep.

A size objects are smaller than coins, B sized objects are coin sized. C is larger than coins so on and so forth.

If you notice when your machine is turned on and lets say Jewelry Mode. You have TID numbers from 1 to 12, then you have LCD blocks that are lit up above them. The LCD Blocks that are lit up are the items that the machine is not discriminating so when you detect a quarter for instance you will get another LCD block that lights up on the screen above them lets say between 9 and 10. In this case it is identified as 9 Plus by your machine which would be a quarter.

When the machine says 9 plus size B at 4 inches then that is what is being indicated on your screen as well.

Your machine could definately be saying 5 B at 2 inches. 5 would come in the range of pull tabs and gold. Doing tests in the house can cause your machine go nuts, too much electrical interference and too many large metal objects.

It's sayng size B. I misinterpreted it too until I phoned Garrett and they told me. And by the way, the new machines don't have Treassure Talk. Onus

been using my 2500 for about six years now, and I never use treasure talk just imaging with no discrimination, sensitivity at 6.5-- 7.5 works great for me
