...I've noticed this on a number of occasions now... with the 2500 in Discrimination "Zero Mode" and nothing notched out, I'll get a high tone of the end of a nail, flip the sod and the signal will disapear. But in Pin-point or All-Metal there will be an IRON nail right on the top. Back in Discrimination Mode there is nothing? :shrug (Surface elimination is OFF)
I've also noticed that visible bits of surface IRON will sometimes not give a "beep" either, though when the coil goes right down on them, the machine will give off the "Overload" tone.
I'm still getting consistant IRON tones and target ID's that range in the first two notches, it's just some IRON doesn't seem to register? :shrug
Any ideas, as the 1250 did not behave like this. Is it possible that this 2500 has been set up a bit high at the factory?
