2500 in hot soil

clw

New member
Recently returned from a hunt in northern va. had a few nice finds but the ground mineralization made for some long days, tried manual and fast track ground balance neither seemed to help. My 2500 is stock, no mineralization chip or dd coil, does anyone know if either or both of these would help in this incredibly hot soil.

Yep what John said!

If you dont have time to send it in for the chip, get that new DD 11x8.5" coil...that will help. But the chip is big difference.

Oh yeah!:super: You need that mineral chip for that hot ground.:detecting:
With that plus a DD search coil it'll do awesome! Happy Hunting!:)

Hi guys, just wondering, after what year the 2500 comes with the new chip? or all models have to be sent to Garrett in order to change it?

Thanks, HH!

Hi Everyone. Is this chip something new for 2011? I have been struggling with me garrett 1500 in I think what is mineralized ground. I bought the detector new last year but it could have been sitting around the dealers for a year. He is nearing retirement and doesn't sell many in a year. I was going to send it in but thought I would try a new location once the ground unthawed. Now I am reading about this new chip and I am hoping this will solve my problem. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Kelvin

I believe it was 2007 when the chip was introduced.

Thanks. I'm going to find out the year mine was manufactured and see if it is before that date.
